Ian
is a 6th degree black belt in Karate, an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, an ACE
Continuing Education Specialist, and a Certified Boxing Coach. He has an
extensive practical background in martial arts and self-defense as well as an
impressive competitive background.
Ian began his karate career at the
age of 16. He competed internationally for England for four years as a member
of the English Karate Council. He has earned numerous medals and awards, both
individual and team including: National Championships in TERA Association, gold
medals in Transatlantic Cup and English International Challenge, silver medals
in Belgian Cup, Commonwealth and Dutch International Championships, and other
medals and awards too numerous to list. Ian is considered an expert in both
karate and self-defense. He was a regular columnist for Traditional Karate
Magazine (Great Britain) and has appeared on its cover, and the covers of other
karate magazines. He's been a professional karate instructor and fitness coach
for the Central England Karate Association. He has 15 years experience in
nightclub security, and has been a Self-Protection Instructor for the British
Combat Association. Ian's expertise in karate has even taken him into the
entertainment industry, where he has worked as a motion capture actor for a
number of video games!
Ian developed his Tae-robics workout 25 years
ago to increase the stamina and fitness of his karate students. Over the years,
Ian has refined and improved his workout, resulting in the high-energy,
motivating, fun workout taught in many gyms by him and his staff of well-trained
instructors. As an expert in self-protection, Ian has spent the last 23 years
educating thousands - from British bouncers to soccer moms - with his Self
Defense for the Real World Seminar.
Ian is now a full-time
self-protection instructor, group fitness instructor, personal trainer, karate
instructor and boxing coach. He is available for seminars in Tae-robics Group
Fitness Instruction and Self-Defense for the Real World.

Liz
is an ACE certified group fitness instructor, in addition to being a personal
trainer and Tae-Robics and ICE Sculpting instructor. After ten years in the
corporate world, Liz re-discovered her passion for fitness and pursuing a
healthy, active lifestyle. Joining forces with three colleagues, KnowSweat was
soon formed and she has never looked back. Liz infuses her love of exercise with
practical strategies for making the most of our busy lives. Her motto: "There
is no excuse!" She inspires her clients through unbridled enthusiasm and
commitment to their success, be that in a class setting or through creating
personalized workouts that keep them engaged in their quest to meet their
fitness goals. Liz is a married mother of two and is currently working on her
certification in Egoscue, a postural alignment and pain management method.

Donna Phelan dmphelan@ameritech.net
Donna
Phelan has been an ACE Certified Group Fitness instructor and co-owner of Know
Sweat Workouts since 2004, but believes her expertise and contribution come from
her own personal experience and dedication to fitness. Obesity plagued Donna
until the age of 20, when she lost 85 lbs. and adopted the lifestyle changes
necessary to maintain her health. Thats been over 30 years ago, states Donna
but I spend every day working at staying in shape, working at keeping the weight
off. That challenge never goes away.
Donna teaches both ICE Sculpting and Tae-robics and conducts KickStart
sessions with her partners. She participates regularly in cardio and weight
training. She also trains in boxing and competitive Sport Karate, where she has
earned medals at the Senior Intermediate level.

Marcia
Erne is an ACE Certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She is a
co-owner of KnowSweat Workouts, a fitness development company. Along with
participating in and teaching Tae-Robics, a high energy kickboxing workout,
Marcia and her partners conduct KickStart, a weight loss motivation exercise
education class. She also trains in boxing and Sport Karate.
Marcia is
also a kindergarten teacher, and has developed KidFit, a workout for children
that includes cardio, strength training, and stretching.
